2022 Wedding Feature
We invite you to the wedding that capped off our warm sunny days before the leaves began to change at the Oak Lodge venue! With beautiful mountain views, Kelly & Tom tied the knot with sweet, woodland vibes and lots of cheers. As the seasons start to change and the Laurel Highlands brings us more amazing backdrops, the wedding season is at its most lively stage. Imagery provided by Kayla Rae.

Where does the story begin
Kelly & Tom actually met online as most do these days! A profile pic of Kelly holding a huge fish is what caught Tom’s eye. He was very impressed that she had caught such an enormous thing herself, as he is an avid fisherman himself . Little did he know it was actually her brother Brady who was the prize winner and let Kelly pose with the big catch. By the time Tom found out about the sham he was already hooked!
Phase 2: Popping the Question
Tom proposed to Kelly on a family beach trip to Mexico! The two celebrated the engagement with family afterward. He teamed up with her best friends on the ring planning and they had accidentally spilled the the tea – so Kelly was awaiting the moment. She said she got nervous any time he got down on his knee to tie a shoe for months!

Saying YES to the Venue
Oak Lodge was truly an all in one destination pick! Providing a home for the friends and family spread across the country, Kelly & Tom enjoyed having a location for everyone to stay on for the whole weekend. Traveling from Colorado, the couple loved having the ability to hold every stage of the weekend’s events on one property. With adoration for the beauty of the natural scenery, many thanks to the staff and more love for the food, the couple and their guests agreed that the venue was incredible to experience!
Favorite wedding day memory
It was a tie for two special moments for the Mr. & Mrs. One loving memory was that Kelly’s Uncle had actually been the officiant for the ceremony! The other was the after-party campfire at the Main Lodge. Following a reception to remember, an intimate night cap followed with friends and family setting up their camping chairs and fixing up some s’mores around the fire. The ultimate, cozy mountain vibes you could ever hope for!

Fill us in on the Fashion
Perfect compliments to the woodland backdrop – Warm tones, jewels, and dapper straps gave this crew style points to the max. Going for the ultimate boho fit, Kelly found her dress at Dora Grace Bridal in Fort Collins, Colorado – The Remi Gown from All Who Wander. The gals showed off a collection of earthy shades and textures to bring the eclectic style into the mix! The boys rented in their classy suits from The Black Tux. Ten out of ten, this wedding party showed out for sure.
Insight into the Theme
Leaving the décor selections simple to highlight the Village’s own character, the couple went for the theme of “Camp Tarcha” ! Sending out cabin bunk lists to their guests lodging with them for the event, they brought the nostalgia of summer camp to this weekend getaway. For the reception, bringing in those Pittsburgh accents with the ever so famous Cookie Table and a polaroid booth decked out with pennants sure to please a yinzer. The special touch sure to take the cake was their dog Moose! The man behind their signature drink complete with stir sticks sported in every glass. From the signature shot ski to the cowboy hats for all, this event was a rodeo of excitement and color.
Favorite location on the resort
The top pick of the many spots memories were made was that of the Main Lodge for Kelly & Tom. Watching the sunrise with hot coffee and her ladies before the rest of the crew were up and about was a sweet moment for Kelly. We can’t forget about the bittersweet campfire of the after party! Guitars strumming, campfire songs, treats, drinks and plenty more laughter to keep the night young. The Lodge was a perfect home camp for Camp Tarcha!
special moments to share from the day
Walking their dog to breakfast in the Village was a special moment for the couple. Our chef prepped Moose his very own breakfast buffet, paired perfectly with water and treats! Kelly and Tom go on to compliment the staff here for their kindness and hospitality in making this a weekend to never forget. And to that, our Team at Oak Lodge thanks them and their guests for a hoot of a wedding we so very much enjoyed!
Cheers to the Tarcha’s!
